Jan. IACW Quarterly Meeting – Hep A Preparedness

At our January IACW Quarterly Meeting, we will hear from State and local public health departments on the actions they are taking to prevent a hepatitis A outbreak from happening in Washington.

Some background from the CDC:

Since March 2017, CDC’s Division of Viral Hepatitis (DVH) has been assisting several state and local health departments with hepatitis A outbreaks, spread through person to person contact, that have occurred primarily among persons who are homeless, persons who use injection and non-injection drugs, and their close direct contacts. As of December 8th 2017, California has seen 674 cases of hepatitis A, including 434 hospitalizations and 21 deaths. Other significant outbreaks have been observed in Kentucky, Michigan, and Utah.

We welcome IACW members to join us in-person at the Tukwila Community Center in Meeting Room A. Please review our new Code of Conduct prior to attending the event.

If you are unable to join in person, we will have a live webinar of the meeting. Click here to register. This webinar will also be archived on our website.
