Pacific Northwest Immunization Roundtable: Meeting #1
Thank you for attending Meeting #1 (Addressing Misinformation & Community Education) of the Pacific Northwest Immunization Roundtable Event on January 27, 2022. Please see below for presentations from the event.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health Region 10 (Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington) and Pacific Northwest immunization partners will convene stakeholders for a series of three 90-minute meetings to promote adult immunizations.
The meetings will focus on building trust in communities and boosting vaccine confidence. Specific topics will include addressing misinformation, clinical vaccine efficacy, motivational interviewing, and future thinking and foresight practice. The meeting series will also provide a networking opportunity for Region 10 community-based organizations, partners, and stakeholders.
Meeting Highlights
Dr. Kathy Burgoyne, PhD. Uncommon Solutions See presentation
Dr. Burgoyne will present on building community trust and present the community health worker model as a method to build trust in a community. The presentation will include approaches to engage community members on topics such as trust, healthcare disparities and access to healthcare.
Dr. Joe Smyser, CEO. The Public Goods Project See presentation
Dr. Smyser will present on misinformation and methods to stop the spread of harmful misinformation about science, medicine, and vaccines. The presentation will include approaches to partner with organizations, share correct information and ways to challenge misinformation.
